4. Advice Dog

The next dog on our list is a meme, more precisely, the advice dog.

The meme dates back to late 2008, early 2009 when it first appeared – nothing but the face of a really cute smiling puppy against a color wheel background, giving advice that is nasty, unethical or simply in poor taste.

The meme came to life on a Mario fan-site called The Mushroom Kingdom where a user called TEM posted the picture of his dog Boba Fett on the color wheel background, giving advice to another forum member.

Advice dog has since spawned a bunch of imitators, the so-called Advice Animals, but he is still the original. Among his most famous pieces of advice are:

Live Wires – Are Delicious

Suck Helium – Defy Gravity

And

Hire Clowns – For Funerals.
