4. Mushing

You don’t need a real mushing sled; your Husky will pull you on anything, from a plastic sled to skis to a skateboard. Make sure you use an X-back harness designed for sledding. Be consistent with commands. Common ones used include:

• Hike - Start
• Easy - Slow Down
• Gee - Turn Right
• Haw - Turn Left
• On By - Continue Past a Distraction
• Whoa - Stop

Be sure to give commands at every new trail or intersection. Remember that your Husky cannot read your mind. It is stressful for him to constantly be faced with making these decisions.
