4. Border Collie

The border collie is the breed that all dog-people think of first whenever somebody mentions the word “agility.” BCs are insanely smart; in fact, they are so smart that people often have problems with coming up with new challenges to keep their brains occupied.

They are also extremely agile and when you take a look at their physique, you can’t help but wonder whether they were created with the sport of agility in mind. If you check the winners of any National level or World level agility trial, BCs are always there, dominating the 26” and 20” classes.

Border collies are well-known for their brilliance and ease of training – you could easily say that they are the nerds of the dog world since nothing makes them happier than overcoming a task set before them. They have high energy levels and all owners should be aware that BCs must have a job; you can’t adopt one of these dogs and put them in the backyard.

They will quickly become bored and come up with their own mental stimulation. We can promise you won’t like it.
